Okay, where to start? Um, burning man was amazing. Indescribable. From start to finish could not have been better. Work is okay. I hate doing womens hair, it takes 21/2 hours per woman. Thankfully I only have six female clients. The rest are dudes, and they are pretty cool. I'm also finally earning a liveable wage which is unique in my life. Dare I hope that finances are turning a corner for the Wylies? Chris is doing very well. He's busy working on his student projects, I get to see them in progress, he is so damn clever. When you guys see him next, ask him to bring something for you to see, even if it's just story board cards. He is hilarious in his new medium. He kills me. He wrote a movie about a cowboy for his class, and it was all done on 3x5 cards with stick figures, but I'll be damned if it wasn't fantastic. He makes me proud. Gabe is turning into an actual teenager before my eyes. He would gladly watch Rob and Bam on Mtv all day if I would let him. I don't though, so he has to find other things to do and gets upset with me and fusses. Teenagers.....Yuk. He is mostly still my awesome guy still and has taken to surfing like the pacific islander he is. Eli is enjoying the GATE program. It is challenging and he has to actually think at school. His teacher is fantastic and makes him really investigate his ideas. It's so cool to watch her with her students. She is really engaging and always encourages them to think deeper and indulges their curiosity. He has a lot of homework though, which so far he is handling like a champ. As for me, I'm painting still, although I lost some of my acrylic pant in the burning man melee and now have to replace it. I was running around like some kind of nut yesterday looking for my tube of white and never did find it so I couldn't paint. (this canvas is done in black and white) I considered using gesso, but didn't think it would work and wasn't motivated enough to actually drive to the art store. So I took it out on my piano. God, do I suck at playing the piano. I know I just started, but I realized that I don't want to learn how to play, I just want to know. I would love to be able to download some sort of program into my brain and just be able to play like Thelonius Monk. But alas, all I can do is plunk out Danny Boy slowly, I may need a few years to reach Monk status. I'm also making a wig for a friend who, due to illness is losing her hair. I don't get to do any actual wig building at hair club so it's nice to be able to use that skill to benefit someone. So, I'll be on my sofa tying hair for a while if anyone has any DVD recommendations.
Love to all my homegirls!!!! Peace in the middle east!!!! Brad Pitt needs to call me, I could kick Angelina's ass and raise his babies!!!!
